Octo IPTV M3U and EPG, explained simply.
Two common terms you may see when adding your playlist and programme guide to an IPTV player.
What is an M3U playlist?
An M3U is a playlist format. In practical terms, it is a link or file that tells a compatible player where to find channel streams and how to organise them. You usually paste the supplied address into the app rather than opening it like a normal website. Keep the link private because it is part of your activation details.
What does EPG mean?
EPG stands for Electronic Programme Guide. It is the schedule information shown alongside channels, such as programme names and times. Some players load EPG data automatically; others ask for a separate guide URL. Your chosen app and the access details you receive determine which fields are needed.
Adding the details
Follow your player’s playlist screen and enter the details carefully. If the list appears empty, check for typing errors, confirm the device is online and refresh the app. Our installation guide covers the broader setup route, and troubleshooting tips cover common issues.
